Update on the Blood drive

On Friday, 4 December, a representative form the American Red Cross stopped by the Montessori school in the morning. She introduced the children to Buddy the Blood Drop  (aka Mrs. Jones)  and told the students a  little about the blood drive. She explained that they were too young to donate blood, you must be 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds, but that they could help by asking Mom, Dad, Grandma & Grandpa, Aunts & Uncles to donate in the name of the student. The student will then receive a “Pint Size Hero” six-sided crayon as a thank you from the Red Cross. The Ashland Montessori students have been working on “Thank You” cards for each donor. The students are “punching-out” a red construction paper, drop-shaped punch out  and gluing it to a pretty piece of stationery and writing “Thank You” on it, then stamping it with our Ashland Montessori School rubber stamp. We hope that lots of our families will participate in the blood drive!  4160945802_3466e1b769_m
